How to get to Cat Ba island from Hanoi Capital
Being one of the biggest island in the north of Vietnam – Cat Ba island is isolated from the main land with the South facing to ocean of East Sea, North East covered by Ha Long bayand the West facing to Hai Phong city. How to get to Cat Ba island From Hanoi capital
- Combo Package Hanoi – Cat Ba island (recommended for the most economical way)

2. Private van – hydrofoil package (recommended for family travel with kids)
This route from Hanoi to Cat Ba Island is more scenic, more comfortable, faster and it avoids the need to find the bus station since the van will pick you up at your hotel.

3. Public bus – boat – bus package
Altenative way to get to Cat Ba Island. You only need to buy one ticket. The people from the bus company will guide you through all the simple transfers. It’s used to be the most economical way to get to Cat Ba island as its bus station Luong Yen was located right in Hanoi old quarter but from 2017, it’s moved out of city to Yen Nghia bus station where is 17km away from down town. Unless you would like to have real local experiences, otherwise we do not recommend this option any more

4. Train (recommended for slow travel)

Being built by French Colonial in the late 19 century, the railway system in Vietnam aimed to transferring the natural resources back to France. Nowadays this railway system is becoming a new travel experience for local and international tourist.
