From Halong
Traveling from Halong City to Cat Ba Island:
While the ferry from Tuan Chau Ferry Station (7 km from Halong City) offers budget-friendly departures at 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 3:00 PM (costing only 60,000 VND), there are a few things to consider:
- Transportation Cost: Additional transportation is needed to reach Tuan Chau Ferry Station from Halong City (cost not included in the ferry ticket).
- Remote Location: This ferry arrives at the isolated northern tip of Cat Ba Island with limited amenities. Finding accommodation or transportation from there might be challenging.
For a Smoother Journey:
We recommend booking a convenient private pick-up service directly from ferry station when you hop off. This will take you directly to your Cat Ba Island accommodation for a hassle-free experience. Our private pick-up service costs 450,000 VND per car (one way).

- Due to safety regulations, kayaking directly from the pier is not permitted. We will pick you up at Ben Beo Pier for shuttle boat transfer and drop you off at the Boat House in middle of Lan Ha Bay, where we store the kayaks. Please note that the boat transfer will not accompany you throughout the day.

- Water Classification – slow moving flat water, perfect for first timers!
- All renters must fill out a liability wavier.
- Children (under 18) are welcome to paddle their own boat – we ask that they are accompanied on the water by an adult.
